WELCOME

Welcome to Reflective Resilience Ranch, Inc., where we provide Equine-Assisted therapy in a calm and supportive environment tailored for your emotional growth. Our sessions are designed with a collaborative approach, led by our Licensed Educational Psychologist and Equine Specialist, focusing on nurturing emotional awareness, confidence, and regulation through meaningful interactions with our horses. We invite you to experience the unique benefits of equine therapy, where neurodivergent children and adults can engage with horses to receive immediate, nonjudgmental feedback. Unlike traditional methods that rely on lengthy verbal instructions, our unique sessions utilize the horses' instinctive responses to provide clear, consequence-free guidance. This nonverbal and interactive approach not only reduces social anxiety but also fosters learning through direct, hands-on experience. Join us to discover a new way of connecting and growing.

Clinical studies show positive results of equine assisted therapy for neurodivergent children:

  • Clinical studies from organizations like CU Anschutz Medical Campus, show that equine assisted therapy significantly lowers hyperactivity, meltdowns, and irritability in autistic youth and children with ADHD.

  • Studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln indicate that ground based equine activities lower anger, anxiety, and distress in students with ADHD and co-occurring diagnoses.

  • Systematic reviews and meta-analyses, such as those published in Frontiers in Psychology and PubMed, indicate that ground and mixed equine-assisted therapy programs significantly enhance social cognition, social motivation, and daily living or communication skills.

  • A 2026 study published in Scientific Reports by researchers at U.C. Davis found that spending just of 3 minutes interacting with mini horses and donkeys improved the mood of adolescents, including those who are neurodivergent.

Why ground-based equine therapy works for neurodivergent individuals:

  • Horses provide immediate, honest, and nonjudgemental sensory and emotional feedback loop that does    not rely on traditional verbal communication.

  • Horses react in real time to body language, energy, and emotional presence rather spoken words. This removes the pressure to mask, perform, or converse in ways that can feel exhausting for neurodivergent individuals in conventional therapy.

  •  Participants must practice self-regulation, calm body language, and focused attention to interact safely with the horses; skills that often transfer back to home, school, and social settings.
